Ramona, I was deeply shocked and saddened when I recently heard the news that you had passed away. I still find it hard to believe.

I will always remember the beautiful memories we shared in Syria, and especially those unforgettable Newroz celebrations in Rojava — the laughter, the gatherings, the music, and all those moments that now feel even more precious. These are memories I will carry with me forever.

A long time ago, I even sent you a message on Skype, wondering how you were and hoping to hear from you. I never received a response, and I never imagined that one day I would learn that you were no longer with us.

My deepest condolences to your family and loved ones. I wish them strength, patience, and peace during this incredibly difficult time.
